Some beach clubs exist purely to be seen.

Others are quieter - places where the atmosphere, setting and details do the talking.

The music is low, the service feels effortless and the horizon becomes part of the design. Whether they’re tucked into a rocky cove, set on a private stretch of sand or hidden within a luxury resort, they offer something rare: a sense of place that feels unforced.

These clubs are about slowing down, soaking up your surroundings and discovering what makes a destination special long after the sun has set.

Four Seasons / Bora Bora

This is the kind of place where thatched cabanas float on a calm lagoon and the light seems to be edited for you. Access is typically reserved to resort guests, which keeps the rhythms measured and sparse.

Here, the sea is translucent and the coral gardens are a private cinema for snorkellers where a short paddle from your cabana can reveal a reef bustling with colour.

Service anticipates - a chilled towel placed without request, a plan quietly adjusted and intentionally intimate to serve fewer guests as well as possible.

Ideal for: Couples and small families seeking crystalline water and absolute ease amongst proud French Polynesian culture.

Cala Masciola Beach Club, Puglia / Italy

Set within the spectacular Borgo Egnazia resort near Savelletri, this beach club embodies refined Mediterranean low-key elegance. Its design draws inspiration from traditional Apulian architecture, with warm stone, wooden pergolas and shaded terraces overlooking the sparkling Ionian Sea. The atmosphere is calm and exclusive, offering private cabanas and a peaceful ambience that feels like a well-kept secret.

Dining here is a celebration of Puglia’s rich culinary heritage, featuring dishes crafted from the region’s freshest ingredients including olive oil, seafood and sun-ripened vegetables, paired with a curated selection of Italian and international wines.

The beach club seamlessly blends relaxed luxury with an authentic sense of place, perfect for those who want to indulge quietly while soaking in the natural beauty and cultural richness of Puglia’s coast.

Ideal for:

Guests who appreciate subtle luxury, exquisite cuisine and a serene seaside setting.

Distrito Panamera / Tulum

A hybrid between an artist’s residency and beachfront hotel, Distrito Panamera turns its rooftop into a living studio, the bar becomes a place of quiet experimentation, and local musicians and visual artists are invited to host short residencies, whilst their work often threads through dinners and late-night gatherings.

The club feels like an incubator - expect mezcal flights paired with experimental tasting plates, and an evening where a sculptor’s piece quietly reshapes the room.

This is a beach club for those who revel in cultural surprises with their sun.

Ideal for:

Curious travellers who indulge their beach time with conversation and connection.

Oil Nut Bay / Virgin Gorda

Approach Oil Nut Bay and your first feeling is the scale made gentle. Villas nestled into headlands, terraces that tumble into private pools and a dining room that could be your friend’s home if they were exceptional hosts.

There’s a seriousness to the hospitality here - meticulous private dining options and a cadre of staff who know repeat guests by name - yet the effect is surprisingly homely. It’s a place to base a week of stillness with mornings in secluded coves, afternoons by the pool and evenings for long meals where the kitchen’s fires run late.

Ideal for: Families and yacht guests who value privacy coupled with thoughtfully appointed service.

Nikki Beach / Koh Samui

Nikki Beach is the brand you expect, but in Koh Samui it operates with a softer presence.

Expect white linens, an international menu that champions local produce and sublime days that transition into rhythmic evening gatherings.

The décor is consistent and polished, but the mood is relaxed - elegant comfort, with a predictable warmth that many guests appreciate.

Ideal for: Groups who love to linger over lunch and enjoy easy-going, sociable days.

Gili Lankanfushi / Maldives

There is an economy to the way Gili is put together - overwater suites staggered like private porches, timber walkways that hum under barefoot steps and cuisine that leans on the island’s fishermen and gardens.

Mornings are for long swims, evenings - for watching the horizon dissolve into navy.  It’s a place where design supports leisure and the best seats are deliberately arranged to foster solitude and small talk rather than spectacle.  The architecture reads as simple choreography, directing attention away from showmanship and back to the sea.

Ideal for: Guests who prize seclusion and crisp luxury.

The Abaco Club, Winding Bay / Bahamas

Perched on a private shoreline, this club blends an infusion of sport and leisure - an 18-hole course nestling into low scrub, an infinity pool that looks out to the horizon and a small beach bar where conversation runs deep.

Membership is quiet and protective, which shapes the tone more than any design brief.  At dusk, there’s often a single long table where members gather for fresh-caught fish and slow wine - the feeling is convivial, ancestral almost, with a clear sense that the place is under the stewardship of the people who care for it.

Ideal for: Golfers and families who seek a refined, member-minded retreat.

Palm Heights / Grand Cayman

A boutique estate with confident lines and an affinity for the 1970s’ best elements - relaxed glamour, considered art and a soundtrack that sits humbly behind conversation.

The beach club is understated personified - a small pool reserved for guests, attentive staff who remember the finer details and an afternoon cadence that favours long lunches and cosy naps. It’s quietly luxurious and intentionally intimate, an antidote to scale.

Ideal for: Travellers who prefer a discreet, design-conscious hideaway.

Amante / Ibiza

Tucked away on a cliff overlooking Sol d’en Serra bay, Amante offers a different kind of Ibizan experience - one carved out by the landscape and the rhythms of the sea.

The terraced decks descend towards the beach, inviting guests to linger over slow breakfasts and languid afternoons.

This is a sanctuary of intentional luxury, where the Mediterranean breeze carries scents of pine and salt.  Nights here unfold naturally, with candlelit dinners that blur the boundary between indoors and out, and the distant pulse of the island’s nightlife kept just out of reach.

Ideal for: Travellers who want to balance island energy with moments of retreat.

Yona / Phuket

A pavilion anchored just offshore, Yona reads like a modern Thai fable: teak platforms, bamboo screens and a shallow, sunlit deck where the water laps gently at your ankles.

It was conceived as a place to slow down deliberately - carefully curated menus, local fishermen bringing the morning’s catch and a veranda designed for reading as much as for cocktails.

The afternoon however, calls for a much more elevated pace as lanterns are lit and the horizon becomes an extended table - the house DJ ignites a party atmosphere which continues into the evening. The intimacy here comes from scale and timing: half the charm is the walk across the jetty, which feels like permission to exhale, at whatever time of day and in whichever way you choose.

Ideal for: Those who want a graceful island morning, that turns into captivating theatricality as time progresses.

Four Seasons / Anguilla

Two beaches, a handful of thoughtful pools, and an atmosphere of measured calm.  Anguilla at the Four Seasons is a study in rest.

There’s an ease to movement here - a morning swim to breakfast on the sand, an afternoon nap followed by a sunset walk along a near-empty shore - the idyllic seaside escape.

Staff calibrate service in small, exacting ways - a cooling spritz left when you return to your lounger, a personal recommendation that becomes an all-day plan. It’s uncomplicated in the very best sense: everything is arranged so your attention can wander.

Ideal for: Those who seek a well-ordered, deeply restful retreat with access to two beaches and several 24 hour pools.

Azura Peri Peri / Mozambique

Peri Peri’s wood-smoked grills, casual dining on shaded decks and tide-influenced rhythms feel authentically indigenous with local flavours setting the tone.

Moreish cuisine, world-renowned wines, chilled music played by friendly locals, sun-washed fabrics, open kitchens and hammocks strung between palms - even the design feels born out of necessity where the days effortlessly drift into balmy evenings.

Ideal for: Guests who crave a barefoot luxury vibe coupled with generous hospitality.

Rockpool / Goa

Perched on the cliffs above Vagator, Rockpool rewards those willing to hike a few steps for the unforgettable view. Sundowners here are cinematic and the Arabian Sea unfolds into molten light, while plates arrive that blend Portuguese, Konkani and contemporary influences.

The setting feels territorial, a place locals nudge one another towards on special nights, and the design is raw and considered, with timber decks and open-air dining that culminates in an island evening distilled to its essence.

Ideal for: Foodies who like their sunset with substance.

Little Beach House / Malibu

A discreet white stucco house with a private garden and an eminently Californian light, Little Beach House reads like a Los Angeles salon with contemporary art complimenting the walls, books stacked in corners and a cosy bar that serves perfectly edited cocktails.

It’s part creative club, part residence and a place where conversations about art and film can begin at noon and meander into the night.

Positioned on the beach, the whole experience is woven around a sense of belonging more than mere display and membership feels as though you’re joining an intimately connected, cultured neighbourhood.

Ideal for: Creatives, collectors and anyone who enjoys art over amenities.

The Datai Langkawi / Malaysia

Set deep within a rainforest that feels almost primeval, The Datai Langkawi offers a beach club experience that’s as much about the canopy as the shore.

The design flows comfortably with the wildness of its surroundings - open pavilions with timber and thatch, and a pathway to the beach where the sea laps quietly against bright sand.

Here, luxury is in the absence of anything forced: a place to reconnect, listen and be mesmerised by the sunlight flickering through the leaves shading you, before the sun disappears below the horizon.

Stay for a dining experience under the stars where meals are framed by the sounds of the jungle, and menus faithfully highlight the region’s spices and fresh seafood.

Ideal for: Guests seeking a seamless dialogue between wilderness and elegant comfort.
